Castillo de Vozmediano dominates a rocky promontory in Soria province, situated on the frontier between the medieval kingdoms of Castilla and Aragón. From its 12th-century conquest by Alfonso I of Aragón until borders were definitively established in 1437, this fortress repeatedly changed hands between rival kingdoms. The castle features a double fortified enclosure: an interior rectangular tower with a corner tower and gigantic stone keep, plus an exterior wall of considerable height with multiple square and rounded artillery towers. Declared a monument in 1949 and now owned by the Municipality of Vozmediano, the castle stands in consolidated ruin and serves as the municipal cemetery, preserving its architectural heritage.
