Castillo de Pedraza is a well-preserved 13th-century fortress in Segovia province featuring a rectangular design with four impressive towers enclosed by a picturesque moat. Built atop far older Roman fortifications that previously served military purposes, the castle was extensively restored around 1430 by Don Pedro Fernández de Velasco in austere Gothic style. The strategic location offers commanding views of the Sierra del Guadarrama mountain range. Connected to nearby Pedraza village by tunnel, the castle remains active as a cultural venue hosting concerts, exhibitions, and events, with visitors able to explore multiple rooms including a chapel and cistern.
