Castillo de Navarrés is a compact Muslim fortress of the 12th century situated one kilometer north of the town of Navarrés in the province of Valencia. Constructed on Bronze Age settlement ruins, the castle was conquered by King Jaime I during his 1244 siege of Xàtiva and subsequently passed through several noble families including the Lauria and Castellá lineages. The fortress presents a morphology typical of riverside fortifications, perched on a rocky spur at 379 meters altitude overlooking the Xúquer River. Though significantly ruined, the castle's two powerful cubic towers and remaining wall sections remain visible and accessible via a path from the nearby dam road.
