Castillo de Montemayor stands in the province of Córdoba as one of the finest examples of military architecture in the region. Built from 1340 by Martín Alonso de Córdoba, this fortress features a distinctive triangular enclosure with three towers, designed to protect the reconquered Christian territory against continued Muslim threats. The castle later passed to the Counts of Alcaudete and the Oropesa family, becoming an important stronghold. Today, it forms part of the Ruta de los Castillos, a cultural tourist route showcasing Córdoba's medieval heritage.
