Built in the late 14th century by Fernán Pérez de Andrade in Galicia's province of A Coruña, Castillo de Moeche stands as a polygonal fortress with a distinctive 18-meter-tall keep commanding the valley. The castle features slate and granite masonry walls approximately 12 meters high, with a moat carved into rock and defensive bastions designed to control the surrounding territory. Originally constructed to assert feudal authority, this significant stronghold bears witness to pivotal historical events and remains property of the House of Alba, transferred to the local council.
