Castillo de Marinyén, also known as Castillo de la Reina Mora, crowns a steep mountain at 237 meters elevation in the Valldigna valley near Benifairó de la Valldigna in Valencia. This Arab fortress, built in the late 11th century, was later reformed by Cistercian monks and features two fortified enclosures accessed through a characteristic Albacar gate with a lowered arch. A notable Gothic chapel from the 14th or 15th century showcases a ribbed vault and demonstrates Christian influence. Perched between two deep ravines and protected as a cultural asset, this stronghold represents the region's layered Islamic and Christian heritage.
