Castillo de Huerta de Valdecarábanos stands as medieval ruins on a hill north of Huerta de Valdecarábanos in Toledo, built during the 12th century by the Order of Calatrava as part of the Christian defensive system during the Reconquista. The fortress exhibits a distinctive elongated hexagonal plan approximately 60 meters long, featuring three walled enclosures, a moat, and a possible underground passage; surviving structures include a cylindrical tower, curtain wall sections, and a south-facing rounded-arch gateway. After the Order of Calatrava sold the castle in 1538, it fell into disrepair by 1575 and now holds heritage status as a cultural monument reflecting the region's medieval military architecture.
