Castillo de Garaño commands a 600-meter peak near Pamplona in Navarra, representing one of the kingdom's oldest fortified sites with occupation dating back to the Bronze and Iron Ages. This strategically positioned fortress controlled the Arakil River valley and the vital Oskia pass, serving as a key defensive position throughout medieval history. Though besieged and destroyed by Muslims, French forces, and Ferdinand the Catholic in 1512, the ruins have undergone significant restoration since 2010. Today the castle stands as an archaeological testament to Navarra's complex history and strategic importance in the Iberian Peninsula.
