Castillo de Galisteo is a defensive structure in the historic-artistic town of Galisteo, Extremadura, originating from a 13th-century Muslim fortification that was later rebuilt by Christian forces. Founded in 1217 and granted to the infante Don Fernando de la Cerda in 1268, the locality flourished as the capital of the Galisteo Estate from 1229 to 1837. The original palace-fortress is now represented primarily by a 15th-century square keep with three floors and a terrace, along with a 16th-century palace entrance. Currently serving as a water reservoir, the castle stands within Galisteo's fortified enclosure featuring walls with both Almohad (13th century) and later construction.
