Castillo de Falgons is a large medieval fortress in Sant Miquel de Campmajor, Garrotxa, dating to the 11th to 12th centuries with significant 13th-century modifications and Gothic architectural elements. The castle features a distinctive rectangular plan with towers at each corner bearing descriptive names such as the Tower of the Oven and Tower of the Bell, with a notable coat of arms of the Cartellà family at its Gothic entrance. Originally home to the renowned Cartellà lineage and warriors like Guillem Galceran de Cartellà, leader of the almogàvers, the fortress stands as a national cultural asset. Recent archaeological excavations in 2023 uncovered remains and walls of the original medieval structure. The completely restored and renovated castle blends its 1,000-year medieval tradition with modern accommodations for cultural and event use.
