Castillo de Doña Urraca, also known as Castillo de Beleña de Sorbe, occupies a hilltop position overlooking the Sorbe River in the hamlet of Beleña de Sorbe within Cogolludo municipality, Guadalajara. This fortress of Muslim origin dates back over nine centuries, with documented references existing from 1127, and likely transitioned to Christian control during the 11th century. Alfonso VIII of Castilla granted the castle to Martín González in 1170. The site overlooks an emblematic landscape featuring a historic Arab-origin bridge across the Sorbe River and the picturesque spring of Doña Urraca, surrounded by verdant riverside forest and small waterfalls that create a spectacular natural setting.
