Castillo de Consuegra, also known as Castillo de la Muela, is a meticulously preserved 10th-century fortress in Toledo's province of Castilla-La Mancha. Originally an Islamic fortification, the castle was later held by the Knights Hospitaller of St. John of Jerusalem. Built with mountain-style stone architecture featuring a triple defensive perimeter and imposing keep tower, the castle rises majestically from Cerro Calderico alongside the famous Consuegra windmills, creating one of Spain's most iconic panoramic landscapes.
