Perched at 1,425 meters elevation on a hilltop that dominates Cedrillas in Teruel province, the Castillo de Cedrillas reveals evidence of continuous settlement from the Ibero-Roman period through the Islamic era and into the medieval Christian period. After its reconquest in 1198, the fortress served successive noble families including the Ruiz de Castleblanque and Fernández de Heredia dynasties until abandonment in the 17th century. The castle's surviving walls feature uneven stone construction reinforced with dressed stone corners, with portions of the defensive enclosure now integrated into the modern town cemetery.
