Castillo de Casasola crowns a rocky promontory overlooking the Tajuña River valley in Chinchón, Madrid province. Dating from the 14th-15th centuries, this seigneurial fortress evolved toward residential use and became a noble seat when the Arias Dávila family received it in 1583, eventually obtaining the title of Marquises of Casasola in 1684. Strategically positioned to command views of the river valley and neighboring fortifications including Valderradela and Heza, the castle housed prominent political and military figures during the 19th century. Today it stands as an evocative ruin protected as a Cultural Heritage Asset since 1949.
