Castillo de Arnedo dominates the city of Arnedo in La Rioja from a dramatic clay promontory with steep cliffs, rising above the Cidacos river valley. With origins dating to Roman times, the castle was substantially rebuilt during the Arab period in the 9th century, later becoming a crucial stronghold during the medieval Reconquista. The castle's tower of homage and associated tower showcase 12th-century Christian construction and remain fully visible from the town below. Currently municipal property with free admission, the castle offers panoramic views across the region and guided tours are available.
