Castelo de Doiras stands as a magnificent 15th-century fortress perched at 700 meters in the Sierra de Os Ancares mountains near Cervantes, Lugo. This rectangular structure, measuring 25 by 21 metres, features thick slate masonry walls 1.5 metres thick and rises to 8 metres high, crowned by a 16-metre tower of homage in perfect condition. Built by Paio Guindós to defend the Camino de Santiago, the castle was originally held by the Moirón family before passing to the Count of Grajal de Campos. Today, restored and opened to the public by the Concello of Cervantes and Deputación of Lugo, it commands stunning views over the Cervantes and Doiras rivers.
