Castell la Quadra de Clarà (Cal Xeco)

Castell la Quadra de Clarà traces its origins to March 19, 1057, when Count of Barcelona Ramon Berenguer I and Countess Almodis donated a plot called Clarà with orders to build a stone and lime tower and fortress—establishing the historical nucleus of modern Torredembarra. This medieval fortified farmhouse features a courtyard accessed through a rounded arch beneath a crenellated tower, likely from the primitive 14th-century nucleus, now well restored as part of the property known as Cal Xeco. Declared a Cultural Heritage of National Interest, the Castell de Clarà represents one of Catalonia's oldest inhabited settlements, with its scarce preserved remains integrated into the contemporary structure on Carrer de la Indústria in Torredembarra.
