Castell de Vergós Guerrejat, located in Estaràs within the Segarra comarca, is documented from the early 12th century with origins tracing to the county of Berga. This National Cultural Property underwent significant transformation during the 16th and 17th centuries when the Meca lineage converted the medieval fortress into a substantial manor house reflecting Catalan Baroque style. The building features an irregular plan with ground, first, and second floors, characteristic tile and brick eaves, and an external double-slope roof. Though lacking Romanesque features from its original period, the castle preserves its historical significance through successive ownership by notable families including the Sabater marquises of Campmany, representing centuries of aristocratic residence in central Catalonia.
