Castell de Tous

Castell de Tous is a medieval fortification in Sant Martí de Tous, Catalonia, with more than 1,000 years of documented history. First recorded in the 10th century during the repopulation of the Anoia valley, the castle was granted by Count Borrell II to the bishopric of Vic in 960. The fortress underwent major architectural reforms during the 14th century, acquiring the Gothic style that largely defines its present appearance and making it a representative example of late medieval Catalan castle design. Today, portions of the castle function as residential spaces while other zones serve cultural and events uses, preserving the fortress while adapting it to contemporary purposes and public access.
