Castell de Saldes is a medieval castle in the Berguedà comarca, situated on a hillside overlooking the Saldes valley in northeastern Barcelona province. First documented between 1068 and 1095, the castle was held by notable families including the Pinós lineage before declining into obscurity by the 15th century. Declared a Cultural Property of National Interest, the castle's ruins include outer walls, a courtyard, and a striking 13th-century hall featuring a pointed vault. The hermitage of Santa Maria del Castell remains within the complex, making this site a significant repository of medieval religious and military architecture from the High and Late Middle Ages.
