Castell de Rocafort

Castell de Rocafort de Queralt anchors the village of Rocafort de Queralt in Conca de Barberá, constructed in the 11th century and first documented in 1178. The fortress passed through numerous prominent Catalan families including the Queralt, Llorac, Anglesola, Biure, and Armengol families, reflecting the region's complex feudal politics. The castle fell into complete ruin by 1881 until its imaginative reconstruction and inauguration in 1964, restoring the fortress as a landmark of regional importance.
