Castell de Rebollet stands in the Safor comarca near la Font d'en Carròs in Valencia, with roots reaching back to the Moorish period of 711. After James I of Aragon conquered it in 1239, King James I granted lordship to Pedro Ximénez Carròs, who fortified the castle and established a church within its enclosure. The fortress withstood centuries until a devastating earthquake on December 26, 1598, brought down many buildings including the castle itself. Despite destruction, the site retains historical significance as a medieval seat of feudal power, with archaeological evidence including burial sites of the Carròs family discovered centuries later during restoration efforts.
