Castell de Peralta rises on a rocky hilltop in the municipality of Forallac, Baix Empordà region of Girona province, declared a cultural asset of national interest. Originating in the 11th century, the castle belonged to the prominent Peralta lineage and reflects medieval construction techniques with later low-medieval reforms. The most visible structure is the rectangular tribute tower, though time has taken considerable toll—it preserves only one of its original two barrel vaults, and the south wall has largely collapsed. Despite significant deterioration requiring preservation efforts, the castle remains an important historical monument representing medieval power structures in the Costa Brava hinterland.
