Castell de Penyafort is an extensive architectural complex situated south of Santa Margarida i els Monjos, near the Foix River in the Alt Penedès region. Dating from the 11th century, this ensemble evolved from a defensive tower into a fortified mansion, later enhanced by the Dominicans who established a monastery and church. The complex features a large courtyard, single-nave church with six side chapels, a circular tower, and traditional monastery rooms. Named after Saint Raymond of Penyafort, the castle serves as a gateway to the Foix Natural Park and exemplifies the leisure estates favored by Catalan industrial bourgeoisie during the 19th century, seamlessly blending spiritual and residential functions.
