Castell de Llagostera is a Gothic fortress dating from the 13th to 15th centuries, located in the Gironès region of Girona. The castle originally featured an irregular pentagonal floor plan with five cylindrical towers, of which two remain standing today. Built on a strategic plateau that stood out from an ancient lake, the fortress evolved from a simple 11th-century Barcelona count's fortification into a powerful complex. The castle-palace, now serving as the seat of the Llagostera Town Hall, includes the preserved Prison Tower rebuilt in 1671, preserving centuries of architectural and political heritage.
