Castell de la Torre de Claramunt in La Pobla de Claramunt, Anoia province, is a hexagonal-plan fortress with roots in the 11th century. Originally built as an advanced watchtower by the House of Claramunt family for surveillance of the Carmen stream valley and the road to Penedès, the castle was significantly expanded in 1565 by Joan de Claramunt and later passed to the Cardona family in 1318. The magnificent 17th-century stone structure features three floors, rectangular windows with stone lintels, and a voussoir portal, now serving as a restaurant. Designated a cultural asset of national interest, the castle exemplifies the evolution of military fortifications into refined stone mansions across Barcelona's medieval landscape.
