Castell de Granyanella crowns the hilltop around which the village of Granyanella clusters in Lleida province, Catalonia. Designated a cultural property of national interest, this 11th-century fortress was built to defend the vital Ondara river route against Saracen threats during the Reconquest period. The castle was initially part of Cervera's domain before becoming an independent castellan term in the 11th century. Today, visitors discover charming medieval character in the village below, featuring stone-paved streets with covered arcades, the remains of the castle atop the hill, and the parish church of Sant Salvador.
