Castell de Granollers de Rocacorba stands in Sant Martí de Llémena in the Gironès region, with documented ownership by the Cartellà family dating to 1065, when they held it from the Bishop of Girona. First formally documented in 1140 as the center of the barony of Granollers de Rocacorba, the castle later passed through several noble families including the Galceran de Cartellà, Ardena de Sabastida, and Rocabruna. Though original medieval structures were heavily reformed into residences during the 18th and 19th centuries, the old tower house remains discernible. The associated Church of Santa Maria, originally the castle's chapel, dates to 1065 and reflects the site's long historical continuity.
