Castell de Canals is a 12th-century fortification in Sant Cugat del Vallès, perched on a hilltop at the northern edge of the Collserola mountain range within the Valldoreix district. First documented in 1148, the castle passed through notable ownership including Adelaide of Canals in 1243 when granted by King James I, the Cervelló family, and finally the abbot of Sant Cugat del Vallès from 1306 onward. The surviving remains consist of a substantial stone wall measuring 14.70 by 8.50 meters with eastern-western orientation, featuring evidence of wooden beam scaffolding, window openings, and lower walls indicating a rectangular structure. The site exemplifies the strategic positioning and architectural approaches characteristic of medieval Catalan mountain fortifications.
