Castell de Barxell, located 6 kilometers from Alcoy in Alicante, is a 13th-century medieval fortress standing at 800 meters altitude on a rocky mound surrounded by pine forest. This fortified residence, designated Spanish Cultural Heritage in 1996, sits between Alcoy and Banyeres de Mariola near the CV-795 road. The castle's isolated position within the scenic landscape reflects its strategic importance during the medieval period. Positioned near the historical settlement of Solanetes, which held a small population during the Muslim era, the fortress remains an important archaeological and architectural monument of the Valencian highlands.
