Castell de Balsareny is a fortified castle perched atop a hill overlooking the municipality of Balsareny in Barcelona province. Dating from 951 and declared a cultural asset of national interest, this Catalan civil Gothic structure showcases elements from the 14th and 15th centuries with 19th-century reforms. The castle's architecture exemplifies the purest Catalan Gothic style, originally constructed during the Carolingian period and historically linked to the prominent Balsareny lineage. Adjoining the fortress stands a Romanesque chapel of Mare de Déu del Castell from the 12th century, adding spiritual dimension to this well-preserved medieval ensemble.
