
Castell d'Avinyonet is a historic fortress located in Avinyonet de Puigventós in the province of Girona, Catalonia. Built by the Hospitaller Order (Knights Hospitaller), the castle features a quadrangular stone structure with remains of fortification walls and a distinctive tower, of which the lower half is still standing. The site includes the Church of Sant Esteve, a large rectangular chapel with Romanesque features that served the religious-military community. Originally constructed to serve defensive and administrative purposes, the castle complex showcases medieval military architecture typical of the region's strategic border positions.
