Castell de la Morera de Montsant, also known as Castell d'Aguiló, overlooks the village of La Morera de Montsant in the mountainous Priorat wine-producing region of Tarragona. Dating from the 13th century, this fortress is designated a cultural property of national interest. The castle originally featured a rectangular floor plan and sits atop a hill in the upper part of town. Though only walls remain at this hilltop location today, these preserved structures provide insight into the castle's medieval defensive architecture. The dramatic setting within the Serra de Montsant mountain range adds to the historic ambience of this Catalan fortification.
