Burgruine Thaur is a 12th-century castle ruin in the village of Thaur, five kilometers east of Innsbruck in Tyrol. Enlarged in the 13th century to become the largest castle complex in the Inn Valley, it ranks as the third-largest medieval castle in Tyrol and served as a court seat for centuries. The ruins offer striking views of the surrounding Tyrolean Alps and a designated forest trail leads to the castle complex and its historic castle church, making it an ideal destination for photography and alpine hiking.
