Brattingsborg Gods & Slotspark is a historic estate on Samsø island with roots reaching back to 1120, when it served as royal property. The current Neogothic manor house was constructed between 1870 and 1898 under Christian Frederik's direction, designed by architect Knud Borring and completed by Martin Borch. Covering approximately 2,400 hectares, the estate operates as a modern agricultural business producing grain and managing forestry, while maintaining nature conservation areas on protected islands. The six-hectare park surrounding the manor was laid out in English landscape style, offering visitors a serene natural setting. The estate provides holiday accommodations, organizes hunting experiences, and hosts public attractions, making it an active center of both historical preservation and contemporary rural enterprise.
