Batería del Atalayón is an anti-aircraft fortification perched on the highest peak of a ridge 349 meters above sea level, west of Cartagena in Murcia. Built in 1926 following Spain's Defense Plan and armed with four Vickers 105 mm anti-aircraft guns, it served a vital defensive role during the Spanish Civil War. The battery showcases eclectic modernism architecture with Ionic columns and Doric pediments. Today designated as an Asset of Cultural Interest, it can be accessed via a stone road beginning at the Battery of Castillitos.
