Baluarte de los Pozos is a 12th-century Almohad fortress in Cáceres built on a rocky outcrop with Roman foundations to protect strategic wells supplying water during military sieges. Located in the old Jewish quarter on the western defensive wall, this unusually decorated military installation bears 8-pointed stars and Kufic script inscriptions characteristic of Moorish craftsmanship. Today functioning as a tourist center and museum, the site hosts cultural exhibitions and summer performances as part of the Las Noches del Baluarte program, featuring theatre, music, food tastings, and entertainment while preserving medieval garden spaces.
