The Baluarte de la Candelaria is a 17th-century fortification built in 1672 on the northern coast of Cádiz, Spain, strategically positioned to guard the entrance to Cádiz Bay. Constructed with an irregular triangular plan, this bastion features angled defensive facades facing the bay and remains open toward the city. Once essential for protecting the lucrative colonial trade routes and guarding against pirates and enemy fleets, the structure is now recognized as part of Cádiz's UNESCO World Heritage historic center. Today it serves as a cultural venue hosting exhibitions, concerts, workshops, and artistic events, occasionally open to the public for special programs.
