Ballyhack Castle is a commanding five-storey tower house built around 1450 by the Knights Hospitallers of St John, positioned on the Hook Peninsula overlooking the Waterford Estuary in County Wexford. Constructed with complete wall walks and military features including machicolations and murder holes for defensive purposes, the castle housed a small chapel on the second floor complete with piscina and altar. The castle holds historical significance as a Cromwellian stronghold during the 1641 Rebellion and as a transportation point linked to the famous phrase "Go to Ballyhack." Today it displays replica armour and weaponry related to the Crusades and Norman period.
