Alcázar del Rey Don Pedro in Carmona is a Moorish fortress situated on the highest point west of the walled town, likely built in the 12th century and magnificently restored by King Pedro I in the 14th century. Featuring a large pointed horseshoe arch entrance and designed with Mudéjar architectural influences similar to Seville's Real Alcázar, the fortress originally included three towers and defensive compounds. Though affected by the 1755 earthquake and subsequently ruined, the castle's remains now surround Carmona's Parador de Turismo, preserving its medieval splendor within a luxury hotel setting.
