Alcalalí Tower is a late-14th-century watchtower measuring 18 meters high with dimensions of 6 by 8 meters, built to defend the Valley of Pop against pirate and bandit raids common to medieval coastal regions. Featuring five original stories, the tower was connected to an elegant palace residence built by the Ruiz de Lihory family, who governed Alcalalí until 1837, earning it the alternative name Rois de Liori Tower. Since 1992, the municipality has preserved and restored the site, converting it into both a museum and observation point offering comprehensive views across the valley below.
