Al-Muwaiji Palace is a historic square fortress built in the early 20th century by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Khalifa on the western side of Al Ain, near the Al Muwaiji Oasis. The 3,600-square-metre palace features prominent corner towers and a large entrance gate historically used as a diwan for government meetings. Constructed with a high defensive wall approximately five metres tall, the structure is distinguished by its traditional architecture and served as the residence and administrative center for the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan when he became the Ruler's Representative in Al Ain in 1946. Now meticulously restored and repurposed as a museum, it is a key component of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Al Ain and provides insights into the history of the Al Nahyan family and the region.
