Adare Desmond Castle is a 13th-century Norman fortress located on the edge of Adare village in County Limerick, Ireland. Originally erected around the early 1200s with an ancient ring-fort, the castle served as a strategic stronghold throughout medieval times. Initially owned by the Earls of Kildare for roughly three centuries, it passed to the Earls of Desmond following the 1536 rebellion, giving it its present name. Today, visitors can explore this historically significant Norman structure through organized guided tours, which operate daily from June through September via shuttle bus from the Heritage Centre on the main street.
